Wick Fisher White provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing & fire protection design services for the renovation of the 30,000 square foot Ryan Memorial Library building which included reading areas, book stacks, conference and administration areas along with a rare book room housing manuscripts of up to 500 years in age.  All existing HVAC systems were replaced with close attention paid to maintaining tight temperature, humidity and noise levels, and good outside air quality while coordinating the visual presence of these systems with the existing architecture.  Phasing of the installation was included to allow the library to function during the construction period.  A dry pipe sprinkler system was extended to protect the library from fire while reducing the chance of accidental water discharges.  A lighting design was developed for the general illumination of the stacks, reading areas and significant architectural ceiling features of the space.   A lighting design was developed for the display of a portion the Seminary’s art collection after it was relocated to various parts of the library.
