Wick Fisher White provided design for the upgrade and renovation of the existing mechanical and electrical systems serving the first floor data center of the Fox Chase Cancer Center, located at 333 Cottman Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The space consisted of multiple rooms, with approximately 2,000 sf floor area.

Specifically the upgrade consisted of architectural changes, a raised floor system, foundation wall leak repair, fireproofing, HVAC, fire protection, uninterruptable power system, branch power distribution, and fuel oil system to the existing standby generator for the data center.

The challenges of this project were to keep the data equipment running and to protect the equipment from the dust during the phases of construction. Temporary partitions, temporary cooling and power were provided at all phases of construction to keep the data center running.
